Bastar Lokotsav

this festival is observed after the end of the rainy season when the forests and waterfalls are at their best. large number of tribal groups from remote villages participate in the festival. This is a fortnight long tourism event. It showcases the best of Bastar. It coincides with Bastar Dussehra.

Large number of Handicraft items are exhibited in the Bastar Lokotsav.

As it is the festival of the folk people it starts with an array of cultural events.

The jagdalpur area organizes a Bastar parab, in which varieties of songs and dances of the tribal communities are seen.

This is a platform in which. the tribal traditions and culture gets recognition.

The exquisite handicrafts which are quite rare are sold by tribal groups during the festival.

If one can visit Bastar at the time of festivals, one will get the unique privilege, to be a part of the festival.

In this festival people from different parts of the state come to enjoy. Sometimes tourists from other countries are also found. The Lokostav has crossed the regional boundaries and adds vibrant dimensions to the festival, which is one of the biggest celebrations of the tribals of the area.
